The JCC’s Sports and Fitness Department offers a wide range of fitness and exercise programs that contribute to the health and well-being of our members. Our goal is to provide varied exercise alternatives in a safe environment for people of all ages.  

There are 3 wellness and recreation packages to choose from:  Sports, Fitness and Health.  The chart below describes the facilities and services available in each package.

The JCC of Mid-Westchester has just what you are looking for!

We’re starting a Triathlon Club and, along with Race with Purpose, are offering first time Triathletes a program which will prepare you to complete a sprint triathlon in June.

JCC TRIATHLON CLUB
An
ongoing supportive community for triathletes of all levels

  • Specified pool times with organized workouts.
  • Indoor cycle classes on new state-of-the-art spin bikes.
  • Group rides and runs.
  • Discounts on entry fees for select sprint triathlons in June and July.

JCC Triathlon Club- Fee $299. JCC Health and Fitness members $199.

RACE WITH PURPOSE TRIATHLON TRAINING
Program at the JCC for First-Time Triathletes

  • Train with Race with Purpose triathlon coaches and receive everything you’ll need to successfully complete your first sprint triathlon:
  • Access to all the benefits of the JCC Triathlon Club.
  • A 12-week triathlon training class — Mondays, 7:30-9:00 PM (goal setting, nutrition, event preparation, cycling technique, bike handling, injury prevention, bricks, transition set-up and much more).
  • Exclusive access to JCC Pool and indoor cycling classes.
  • Online training schedule and access to the Race with Purpose online community.

 

Race with Purpose training culminates in participation in first-time friendly sprint triathlons (1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike, 3.1 mile run), including the Long Island Gold Coast Triathlon on Sunday, June 15th (discounted race fee available).

Race with Purpose Triathlon Training Program Fee $595. JCC HC and FC members $495.
($40 registration fee may be applicable)

On Sunday, March 16th, join us at an information session with mini clinics from 9:00AM-10:15AM at the JCC of Mid-Westchester 999 Wilmot Road in Scarsdale.

Our trainers will enhance, motivate and help you attain a new level of fitness. All trainers are highly qualified to design an individual exercise prescription tailored to meet your goals.

Massage Therapy
Treat your body to a session of muscle relaxation with one of our licensed massage therapists. Our therapists specialize in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue/Trigger Point, Sports Massage, and Reiki.

Pilates

Pilates is a unique method of body conditioning named after German-born Joseph H. Pilates. The Pilates method is designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body. This is achieved by performing a system of sequential exercises in a very precise manner, emphasizing proper alignment and breathing. To sum it up in three words, it is STRENGTH, STRETCH and CONTROL.  Both floor or “mat” exercises as well as machine or “apparatus” exercises are encompassed in this system. We offer both group lessons for matwork and private lessons. The schedule for group pilates is listed under the group fitness section. All machine or apparatus lessons are performed in a private, one-on-one, or two on one setting. Prices as follows:

Private One Teacher and One Student:

Individual Fitness Program Design

JCC Recreational Programs

Intro to Teen Fitness 
September 4, 2007  - June 27, 2008
This supervised program is being offered for teens 12-16 years of age. Each session will include a cardiovascular, strength, flexibility, functional training, and sports activity time. Participants may also attend teen cycling classes on Mondays at 4pm. The focus of this program is to educate and promote a healthy lifestyle for these young adults and to promote social interaction.

Men's Basketball / Racquetball / Open Gym Options
The JCC has two racquetball courts. Reservations can be made by contacting ext. 325. Our full size gymnasium is available for
adult pick-up basketball games Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 7:45-9:45pm, Saturday mornings from 9:00-11:30am and Sunday
mornings from 8:00-11:00am. Additionally, the gymnasium is open for family use on Saturdays from 11:30am-1:30pm and Sundays
11:00am-12:30pm.

Guest Policies 
Guests must be accompanied by a member, subject to availability and the discretion of the Sports and Fitness Supervisor. Sports and Fitness fees: $10 (adults 18+); $7.50 (children). Health Center fee: $15. Saturday guest fees must be prepaid.

Reciprocity
If you travel outside the New York area, many JCCs will honor your valid JCC Sports & Fitness membership for up to two weeks. We extend the same courtesy to our out of town guests. Please contact the Customer Relations Department at x306 prior to traveling for more information.

Medical  Extensions
To freeze a membership due to a medical disability, a doctor’s written notification must be received by the Customer Relations Department at x306 within two weeks of the disability.

Baby-Sitting Center

Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday (2 hour maximum)
Times: 9:00am-noon
Ages: 6 months - 5 years
Staff: 4:1 ratio
Fees: $6.00 per hour per child
Siblings: $4.00 per hour
Payment: Cash or 10 hour card: $55.00 first child, $40 sibling discount on second card when purchased together.  Cards available at the Front Desk.
Reservations: Members can reserve a spot after 12:00pm the day before at the Sports & Fitness Checkpoint Desk, 472-3300 x325. Reservations accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Note: Please provide infants with a car-seat or stroller, diapers and bottles. Parent/caregiver must remain in the building.

About the Director, John O’Brien
With 25-plus years in the fitness, education, and pool management business, including 18 years at the JCC, John brings a variety of
experience to the agency. He has introduced a range of innovative programming to the JCC in the areas of aquatics, coaching,
children’s classes, and fitness. John is a graduate of Manhattan College with a B.S. in Physical Education, and has a Master’s of
Administration from Iona College. He is a former high school and country club Athletic Director.
