The JCC Maccabi Games are an Olympic-style sporting competition held each summer in North America and is the largest organized sports program for Jewish teenagers in the world. The Maccabi Movement began in 1895 when the first all-Jewish sports club was formed in Constantinople. The first World Maccabiah Games were held in Israel in 1932. The Continental Games were introduced in 1982 and are held each August in multiple sites throughout North America with athletes from all over the world including Israel, Australia and Europe.
Through the JCC Maccabi Games athletes experience home hospitality and participate in Jewish programming such as Hangtime, Munich 11 Tribute, Rachmanus and Days of Caring and Sharing. The games:

supportive environment for Jewish teens to cultivate Jewish
values while enriching their Jewish identity
Enhance athletic,
social and cultural growth
Promote community involvement teamwork, integrity and pride through volunteerism in a variety of community service projects
